Our History

Three decades of passion for the sea

Isfjord Norway was founded with a conviction that the Norwegian fjords had the potential to produce the world's finest salmon — and that this could be done without compromising the environment that made it possible.

From a single farm in Orkanger to an internationally recognised producer with distribution across 40+ countries, we have grown while retaining the hands-on, quality-first culture of our founding years.

Milestones

Our journey

1991

Founded in Orkanger, Mid-Norway, with a single salmon farm and a vision for quality over volume.

2003

Received first international certification. Began exporting to Western Europe and Japan.

2012

Expanded to by-product processing, achieving zero-waste production at the Orkanger facility.

2019

Reached 40+ export markets. Awarded ASC certification — the global gold standard in responsible aquaculture.

2024

Completed facility expansion. Now one of Norway's most certified independent salmon producers.
